Verint V15.2 - SNMP Engine ID

When configuring SNMO v3, you may be asked to provide the Engine ID.

 In the context of Verint systems (or any SNMP-enabled device), an "SNMP Engine ID" refers to a unique identifier string used in SNMPv3 protocol to securely identify each individual device within a network, ensuring that communication is only with the intended target and not a malicious entity; it acts as a security key to authenticate the SNMP communication between devices. 

 

Verint does not have ID, its per device.


The Engine ID can be found in the Alarm information that is sent to the SNMP manager:
